Jonathan Cavender

Jonathan Cavender has an extensive history of trial practice, having conducted over 160 trials in his career.  His practice is focused on insurance defense, primarily auto defense, including complex multiparty litigation and first-party litigation.  In addition to his experience as a litigator, he is also NITA (National Institute of Trial Advocacy) certified and has taught trial skills to hundreds of attorneys.  He has twice been an ATAP instructor in trial advocacy.  Additionally, in 2023 he taught the entire litigation staff of a major insurance carrier best practices for dealing with life-care planners and in 2024 he taught in-house counsel for an insurance carrier best practices for cross-examining opposing expert witnesses.

During law school, Jonathan competed in Jessup International Law Moot Court, being named 2nd best oralist in the Western United States.  He is licensed to practice in Utah and before the United States Supreme Court.  In addition, Jonathan has presented on CLE topics for a major university and has written six published books.  Passionate about trial advocacy, Jonathan has a fervent love of jury trials and always finds a great deal of satisfaction in delivering excellent verdicts for his clients.

Mr. Cavender has not yet been admitted to the State Bar of Nevada but is working toward admission.
